A Seditious Affair

"Wednesday by Wednesday, week by week, I have become yours for the taking."

So I don't think anything I say is going to do this book justice. It was absolutely wonderful and it kind of broke my heart to finish it. For me this was utterly perfect. Yet again we see a beautiful story of two amazing men intertwined with a history that is very bleak and very sad. Whenever I read a K.J. Charles I end up with an ever increasing list of more things to read. The Cato Street conspiracy and further investigation into King George IV and Caroline of Brunswick are at the top of the list after this. Most importantly though? The addition of William Blake. Just no words. There is a scene with Silas quoting Blake to Dominic and it is one of the most amazing things I've ever read. That scene is my new happy place. Just outstanding!!!
It's pretty safe to say that Dominic and Silas are my new favourites. I adored them and even though they were from vastly different worlds I thought they were perfect together.
"There is no fine gentleman for me," Dominic said softly. "I had the finest gentleman in the land once, and I didn't want him. I want my firebrand. And I want no after. I will fight against after with everything at my disposal, and if-when-there is an after, it will be bleak indeed."
I'm really excited about the next book. I was not a fan of Richard for a lot of this but I have a sneaking suspicion all will come right in his book. Foxy David is awesome and I can't wait to see him ruffle Richard. Richard needs all the ruffling!!
"Those who restrain desire, do so because theirs is weak enough to be restrained."
